At what point does loyalty end?

So… here’s the scoop.
I used to be involved in the family business which shall remain nameless. It has recently come to my attention that not only is the business being mismanaged, but the ownership has started to become abusive towards selected members of the employees. The most curious thing about this is that the employees that have served the longest and most loyally are the ones who are getting the worst time. Belittling, screaming and profanity thrown at them on a daily basis.
My father is a complete cunt who is the one doing all this against an employee who has worked there for the better part of 20 years. The environment is now completely toxic.
I know what is going on even though I am not an employee of the firm anymore. Supposedly promises have been made to new employees of great responsibility and salaries, while ignoring this longstanding employee.
To make matters worse, my mother is contemplating divorce to which my brother has told her outright LIES about what she can expect in the divorce. She can legally expect half of the company. My brother told her that she will get nothing although he doesn’t seem to understand family law.
I know.
I’ve consulted an attorney.
I have recommended to the employee that she quit and that she launch a civil suit at the Labour Board for “Constructive Dismissal” and that I will testify on her behalf.
I am no longer concerned with assets and money anymore.
I am concerned with justice.
I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.
I hope I have the chance to destroy this small mean and nasty part of the world.

For the first time I am questioning my own mortality due to the loss of a dear friend. I never did enough for her in the end, and I have been shamed into admitting that. I know what I will do to amend that situation and its going to bug the absolute shit out of others, but in the end – what the fuck. If I can do some good for hers then so be it.
I recently lost my first and (probably) only love. She was a woman whom no one else really stood up to – whether it was beauty, intelligence or talent. Its always in the eye of the beholder.
Blogs I have found in my rooting around are usually less a diary of the daily bullshit but are actually a whine about the bullshit that people put up with – and this one is too. To be completely honest the stuff that I really want to keep are filed away in a neat little file on my computer designated for just that. In time it may be opened by some enterprising person or may just be a letter to the cosmos.
I said goodbye today to the most perfect person that I knew… a person that I set free from the bonds of my love almost 25 years ago. I saw the result of my setting her free. Hundreds and hundreds of well wishers who didn’t spare one kind word – who reminded me about how wonderful and talented and beautiful she really was. All those people would never have known her had I not made a very hard decision to set her free. I revel in the fact that part of her last 18 months were spent with me.
I was her friend, her confidant and her lover.
She was stronger then me and when things really turned ugly and sorrowful she cut me loose too.
I’ll never be able in this life to tell you if she loved me more than the man she married, but I can tell you for sure that as I never fell in love again I loved her more than anyone I ever met,

I live a funny funny life. I was always the “enfant terrible” I was told. But when it comes to douchebaggery I guess its just a question of perspective.
In the last several days I have been subjected to “family” those people who don’t listen and ignore you until they choose to tell you that you are wrong.
Who would have thought that a stupid bitch would know more about William Shatner than a life long trekkie?
I’m sick of all the shit. Really I am.
I’m tired of spinning my wheels, of being the one who is a dick for pointing out obvious dick-like behaviours in others, and who is a dick for deciding to leave a dinner because he just doesn’t want to turn around and point out that YES I DO KNOW MORE SHIT THAN YOU DO!.
Next I am sure that someone will point out that I am somehow abusing my dog.
I’m tired of it all.
Really tired of it.

Some people think that I am a relatively smart person. And I am, but even more important, I am what is called a “raconteur”.
I love a story and the longer the better.
The talent isn’t so much in the story itself but in the spinning of the yarn, both deftly and well enough that you keep the interest of your listeners.
I like to think that I have that talent.
Its kind of silly really because lets face it its really because I like to hear the sound of my own voice. Of course when one does such “freestyle” racontage you run into a small problem.
Often I am already mildly intoxicated, so guess what happens?
Yes I forgot where I was originally going with the story and then I draw a blank.
Its at this point where I pull out an old trick which only I and a select member of what I like to call “The Cognoscenti” appreciate.
It often gets HUGE laughs because its a sign that I forgot where I was going with it.
I’ve often resorted to this trick and only recently have developed a following of sorts – the aforementioned “Cognoscenti” where in I am not the only one who enjoys and appreciated the joke…. often this line is followed by a snicker but most often by a belly laugh…

“We’re the Aristocrats!!!!”

Taught geometry to a couple of stucco guys.
Discovered that even with Google maps and a GPS unit 3 Jamaicans and an Oriental can STILL get lost.
If Vietnamese people can’t control their dog they won’t necessarily eat it.
A Chihuahua will comfortably fit into my German Shepherd’s mouth.
Some people think that I am a really great and sweet guy.
I guess that it really sets me back in my quest for the “Asshole of the New Millenium” award.

I guess that over the last 40 years or so I have been rather good at being a sort of word-smith of sorts – able to have a sentence have several meanings every now and again.

For those of you out there…. Sometimes – actually most times there is no hidden meaning.

No sense in trying to figure out what I am trying to say – just read what it says.
